Safest Destinations For Travelers
Where are the safest destinations for foreigners to travel?
Before listing these destinations I would like to reiterate that travelers should never drop their guard regardless if they are in safe or
dangerous places.
Also remember that crime can happen anywhere, anyplace, and at anytime time.
With this said many of the safest countries are either located in first world countries or government controlled countries (e.g., dictatorships or communists nations).
Why is this?
Most first world countries have thriving economies which means that there are less people who have to resort to crime to make ends meet. However, with the current
economic crisis
many of these same countries are seeing an increase in crime. Furthermore, first world nations have stable criminal justice systems to include functioning and reliable police departments and effective courts.
Dictatorships and communist nations also make for safe countries to visit because criminals fear strong governments and swift punishment. These streets are typically lined with police officers on every corner watching everyone’s movements.
I understand that many people seeking adventure travel like to go to places off the beaten path but many of these places can be extremely dangerous.
So let’s take a look at some of the safe countries for travelers which would fall into the category of first world countries.
- London
- France
- Portugal
- Denmark
- Germany
- Japan
Examples of countries that have strong government control and safe include:
- Cuba
- North Korea
- China
- Vietnam
Please remember that’s ok to travel to safe countries. No one says that travelers have to take a lot of risk to enjoy themselves. Can you believe that some tourists are visiting Iraq? This is an example of foolishness on travelers’ behalves. I’ve even heard stories of travelers making fun of fellow travelers for going to popular tourist destinations rather than dangerous or strange places. Travelers should understand that the seeking thrills also greatly increases risk.
